Fisher's Bench
This set of instructions will show you how to build the Fisher’s Bench. Inspired by some Japanese-style furniture, this design incorporates a tusked mortise and tenon joint for the stretcher as well as exposed wedged tenons for the uprights. It’s important to note that the tusked mortise and tenon is purely cosmetic and since the other joints are glued, this piece cannot be broken back down after assembled. It’s a beautiful piece and functions well as a stool. Perfect for the foot of your bed or for an entry way.
This bench takes some skill to craft and is to be considered an intermediate to advanced project.
The bench stands 18” tall, 36” long, and has a depth of 13”.
Dimensions: All measurements are in Imperial format only!
File Format: This document is a PDF and readable using Adobe Acrobat Reader or other PDF-compatible viewers.
